Why I do my job

I love what I do. Working for a small business is refreshing to my past corporate roles. The pace, the opportunities, the variation and most importantly the people, are all fantastic.  I'm an organised person and l find it satisfying that I get to use Excel nearly every day - I have a love for spreadsheets!  

What I did before

My background and qualifications are in Marketing and Events. I worked in the professional services sector for 8 years, my experience working for a magic circle law firm provided a great insight into client relationship management and the importance of communication and attention to detail - to this day I continue to use some of their best practices. When we had our little girl we decided we wanted a slower pace of life and moved out of the City to the countryside. During my children's early years I had numerous roles to keep money coming in; including - running a little sweet business, Saturdays at an Estate Agents doing house viewings and late evenings working in a supermarket. I feel very lucky to have now found such a wonderful firm to work for, providing work flexibility, allowing me to work some evenings so that I still have time with my children but also enabling me to utilise my skill set.

What keeps me going when things get tough

When the tough gets going, the outdoors is my go to. There are many walks on my doorstep that are simply stunning, I love bluebell season. I love going on adventures and camping with my husband and our two little people on the weekends, seeing things from their innocent eyes always makes me smile.  If I'm not outdoors (which is a lot of the time) I love yoga, swimming and I'm just getting back into sewing (don't look closely!).
